The one that got away.
A new image also now up for yesterday.

Part of my birthday celebration last week.

what'cho lookin' at?
I'm not gone! Really I'm not. I just got a bit behind. But I've now put up entries from the 22nd on, beginning here.

looking into emptiness
The first of a series taken when we cleared out the living room in preparation for skylights. Ah, light.
(I may not be able to update exactly promptly this weekend; I'll be on my aunt's computer in Boston. My first time away from Damian. It feels surreal.)

comfort object
We all have them. Most of us don't sleep head to head with them, though.

hello kitty
Dante's not exactly delighted. Fascinated, though. Kitten (as yet unnamed) wants to make friends but thankfully knows the proper etiquette (ie: go slow, don't push your luck).
Despite appearances here, the kitten is extremely friendly and took to Damian right away.
See?
Kitten in motion.
Kitten still for a moment. Sweet kitten.

in my back yard
Quintessential California: lemon trees and bougainvillea. Sometimes I pinch myself. This is not my inner landscape. Still, I don't seem to wake up. Strange.

today was the party
More pictures (and some words) from Damian's birthday party later this week...

ribbit
And sometimes it's not about the aesthetic of the thing at all.

when the cat grew...
...as big as a house.
(Full disclosure: I did not take this picture. I'd taken half a dozen, trying for just the right juxtaposition of Dante's head tilt and the dollhouse, and Damian said: "Can I have the camera?" His first shot caught the moment. Damn. He's not even five yet.)
