Once more I have successfully avoided the Halloween beggers! Yoko, Hiro and I went first to her piano lesson (she has ten students at this point, and one more to happen soon), then to dinner at an interesting (new) Turkish restaurant in Halifax and then to a movie, Wallace and Grommit. Cute. By the time we returned home, there were just a few people out walking dogs.
Speaking of dogs, I went to see some Portuguese Water Dogs last week. Two were pregnant and one about to be (maybe). One of them really took my heart (the one on the far right). But I just don’t know. I have a soft spot for Golden Retrievers, having had three beautiful, loving, special ones of their kind in my life. But given my sensitivities to the fur and their health problems due to over-breeding, I really must be practical here. If possible.
I skipped (avoided) Halloween too. The dog didn't even get a walk because I just didn't want to show my face. I was sort of creeping around my house in the dark at one point and thought I really should have gone to a movie!
Posted by: Rachel at November 1, 2005 12:12 PMI was considering acquiring a dog a few years ago, and from my research had settled on a Portugese water dog. At the time, there weren't any in the maritimes, so it never came to naught.
The ones in the photo are pretty cute.
I've hidden in my house a few times on Halloween, Rachel. But here in the country even the smallest light in the back of my house is VERY obvious. So Yoko and I have gone out for three years now. It's a good solution!
And Jessica, there are two breeders here now. And I'm very close to getting a pup. They are very good natured and cute!
Posted by: Leya at November 4, 2005 06:30 PMHi Leya!
I could feel something exciting about these dogs as the image came up. How can you not smile when you see them?
I hope that you will follow your heart on this one--I believe that you are yearning for that special canine companionship, to romp with you among the many beauties of NS, sniffing shoreline and stream, returning to you always with wet doggy kisses.
xxooxx from your four friends in Little Falls
